“The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.”
Robert Swan
The first time I ever saw an animal in the wild was in East Africa 10 years ago. A life-changing experience that more and more people are fortunate to have had over the years.
Regrettably, as accessibility to these creatures has grown, a number of factors threaten many species and a significant number are endangered, if not already extinct.
I’ve been able to produce visual representations of a reality that will soon disappear if we don’t act to save it. There are very few things today that haven’t been altered by humans – wildlife being one of them. We are trying to conserve nature in its true essence, where instead of harming, we can protect these majestic beings.
In 2017, I was fortunate enough to visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi, Kenya, 10 years on from my first visit. Where this organization has several different projects such as anti-poaching, water restoration and rescue & rehabilitation of animals. The work that is done here helps both animals and humans work together and preserve nature for generations to come.
My goal is to use the art of photography to promote the conservation of wildlife, to ensure that photographers like myself and those of generations to come will have the opportunity to observe wildlife in their own environments.
I hope to raise a substantial amount to help the Sheldrick Trust and the WWF to continue their mission of conservation and all the efforts they are making to save our animals.
Every photo sold helps to save a life. We have the opportunity to help these creatures – so why not take it?
